Superheroes (EP)
Superheroes, released in 2005, is an EP by German power metal band Edguy. Michael Kiske of Helloween has a guest appearance. On this EP, the band has moved away from the sound they had developed on their previous album Hellfire Club. The songs on Superheroes are much less akin to the band's native style of power metal, but tends towards the direction of hard rock. The EP also contains an epic track, "Judas at the Opera," that is somewhat reminiscent to Tobias Sammet's project Avantasia. The epic version of "Superheroes" is a slower version of the song with only orchestral backdrop and Tobias Sammet's singing, thus giving it a more balladesque and operatic feel. The song "The Spirit" is covered from Magnum.
